EVault Brings Backup to the City by the Bay

We’re sure you read about it in the SF Chronicle, but just in case you didn’t, we wanted to personally announce that EVault has officially moved to San Francisco! Our new headquarters is right in the heart of the city’s tech hub, next to the Moscone Convention Center and down the street from the SFMoMA. We’re already loving it!

We’re thrilled to be in the middle of San Francisco’s energetic, innovative, and all around inspiring tech scene (not to mention within walking distance of the Blue Bottle coffee shop on MoMA’s roof.) We’ve grown a ton over the past few years, and this move was an obvious choice when we thought about how far we plan to go in the next few years. It was a big step to prepare for even bigger things to come.

We’re not the only ones who felt that way. Our move also got some great coverage in the San Francisco Business Times — Patrick Hoge does a nice job of illustrating the main reasons we felt that this change was necessary, and why our new spot at 201 3rd Street is the perfect place to be.

First, we now have our whole team together. Rather than being spread out in the South and East Bay, we’re all together under one roof. We’re poised for better communication, higher productivity, and most importantly, even more great ideas. Our open office plan will further enhance the spirit of open idea exchange.

Second, our new location in the middle of San Francisco’s tech scene allows us to more effectively recruit smart and talented new team members. With so many great opportunities in the Bay Area, location does make a difference, especially to the fresh-out-of-college set.

They want to be in the city, and so do we. This move also makes things easier for our current (incredible) workforce; the central location is easily accessible for team members commuting from the South or East Bay. And of course, with a top-notch team empowered to do their absolute best every day, we’ll be better able to serve our 35,000 customers. We also think they’ll like visiting us at our new spot.

Finally, we can’t overstate how excited we are about the energy of the City. The majority of our team expressed a desire to be working in the City, and we listened. Here, we’re surrounded by some of the coolest companies in the Bay Area, and we look forward to contributing to the tech community as well as participating in a number of community-based initiative in greater SF. We’re now in the middle of things, and that’s just where we want to be.

The rich variety of new lunch options is a pretty great perk, too.

Once we get a little more settled in, we’re planning on doubling our team here in the San Francisco office. So, keep an eye on our jobs page. You know where to find us.
